Tools needed for your Climbing Frame Build
Be prepared is a popular Brownies/Scouts moto and one that wholly applies to climbing frame assembly. The key to a successful climbing frame build is preparation. We never pretend that they are a breeze to build but they are entirely do-able, by everyone. The manuals are fully illustrated and all Selwood climbing frames are designed for home build.
Our first and most important tip is to make sure you have everything you need before you start. Our last blog noted the importance of checking all parts were present and then sorting those parts. The next step is to ensure you have all the correct tools needed for the build. Nothing worse than getting things just right, reaching for a hammer to find there is no hammer.
The Assembly Manual does highlight the tools required. We have done our own visual version here at HQ so you can easily see just what you need. We must stress that an electric drill is an essential. In the past customers have forgone this and tried to do it with a screwdriver. Several blisters, swear words and days later the frame is just about built. These are large structures and they require the appropriate but simple tools. To make life a little easier we sell a Selwood Build and Drill kit on the Climbing Frames UK website (click here to purchase). From first hand experience of building the frames ourselves we can tell you an electric drill is nothing short of God send.
